The barn
The barn was built in 1931 and spent seventy years holding hay. We spent two putting a floor in it, and the first wedding here was our daughter's.
We have hosted around ninety a year since. That is enough to have seen most of what can go wrong on a Saturday, and to have a plan for each of them.

Most couples book twelve to eighteen months out, and popular Saturdays in peak season go earlier than that. Off-season dates and weekdays open up much later and cost noticeably less.
Ask what the fee actually includes, what the rain plan is, when you can access the space on the day, whether you must use their caterer or bar service, what time music has to stop, and how many hours of setup and breakdown are covered. The answers to those six questions explain most of the price difference between venues.
Capacity depends on the layout you choose -- seated dinner, ceremony, and cocktail configurations each seat a different number.
